The Prince and the Bird

here is a poem about a prince and a bird... hope you like it.

The Prince and the Bird
by Julian Starkey
Dedicated to a prince and a bird, whom both lost their wings

Rain and water
Wind and snow
The wingless bird
Cannot be flown

So hard she tries
To fly away
The chains that bind her
Remain to stay

The Prince of Amity
Tries to free her
He breaks one chain
Three others bind her

The prince requests help
Who hears his plea?
The guards come
For now, the prince must flee

The prince comes back
One week later
The bird is still there
Can he save her?

The first made of paper
The second of steel
The rest are titanium
He gives her an extra meal

This poor little bird
Used to sing for him
This bird lost her voice
Their’ prison walls grow dim
